A Sweet Way to Stay Healthy

Chris' Story

Hello, my name is Chris Ralston. I'm a nurse and a recent breast cancer survivor. I strongly believe that nutritious food is a big part of prevention and the healing process. During chemotherapy, watermelon was one of the few foods that appealed to me. It was refreshing, sweet, and helped me keep my strength up.

You might wonder how I got involved with Melon Up!® Pink Ribbon Watermelon. My husband works for C.H. Robinson and the Melon Up!® Pink Ribbon Watermelon team heard about our plight to fight and win this battle. So when the Melon Up!® Pink Ribbon Watermelon program asked me to share my experience with others, I agreed right away. I like the mission—a collaboration between C.H. Robinson and retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada to promote the health benefits of watermelon and support breast cancer research and prevention.

You will see posts here that include stories from the community, watermelon recipes, and news from the events around the country. And see below for a list of breast cancer resources I collected that helped me in my journey and may help you too. I hope you feel welcome at Melon Up!® Pink Ribbon Watermelon blog and I encourage you to share your story.

Together, we can win.

~Chris
